A Follower of What’s-His-Name?

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

By Michael Tummillo The more I read and listen to others who are wading the House Church pool, sadly, the more I see well-meaning Christians inadvertently lifting up the leaders of various “networks” within the movement. Once again, Dissension appears to be trying to rear its ugly head. Each House Church group and network seems to have their own philosophy with each placing greater emphasis on one thing or another. One places a strong emphasis on the Lord’s Supper while another stresses that any “layman” can start a church in their home. Another group emphasizes signs and wonders while another emphasizes the “Saturation Church” concept. Many groups are merely taking the “big church” format and reducing it to living room scale, while other groups are, unfortunately, becoming elitist and even divisive as they nurture an “Us against Them” mindset against the traditional, or “legacy” churches. As usual, it doesn’t take a Christian very long to revert back to the “holy place of meeting” mentality while giving lip service to the “We are the Church” mantra. But where actual House Church gatherings are concerned, like snowflakes, no two groups will ever be alike. OUR SURVEY SAYS… According to a 2006 survey on the movement, researcher/sociologist George Barna compiled the following breakdown of house churches in America today. Which describes YOUR House Church? The average length of a House Church gathering is 1-1/2 hours. Only 6% of House Churches meet for 3 hours or more. 29% meet on Wednesday, 25% Sunday. For most participants, House Church appears to function as an addendum to their Sunday attendance 60% always follow the same routine. 91% are little more than Bible Studies. A group’s average size: 15 people. 5 Children. One third (32%) have no children involved. 50% separate kids and adults; 19% have separate and combined; 22% always have kids and adults together. Other Activities (Shown are the % of House Churches which Practice each) Video 41% Offering 43% Communion 53% Music 65% Prophecy 71% Discussion 75% Teaching 80% Sharing needs 83% Prayer 87% Eat/talk 8% Bible Study 91% Serving 94% 72% of house church participants said they were satisfied with the sense of community they were experiencing. But we can’t expect any one House Church to last forever. According to author Frank Viola, 6 months to 2 years is about the maximum lifespan of a House Church. LEAD ME TO YOUR TAKER It must be the Adamic nature of man that causes people who confess that the literal presence of God Himself indwells their very being to act in a manner that is contrary to that declaration. We are no different than the elders of Israel who, although they had the prophet Samuel living among them, a man through whom God spoke, insisted upon having a king like all the other nations. Despite God’s warning that a king would TAKE their sons off to war, TAKE their daughters for his Kingdom work and TAKE their taxes, the elders persisted. King Saul was given to them, one of the worst kings ever. The rest is history. So, here we are, this mighty army-on-bivouac called The Church, endued with the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead, still insisting that somebody “lead us” around spiritually. Now, when we gather, some may teach us, but that doesn’t make them our leaders. Others may prophecy, but the words they speak forth had better confirm what the REAL leader - Jesus - is already saying to us. Another who is gifted musically might lead us in songs of worship (Those of who cannot carry a note in a bucket say “let them!”). The common tendency, however, is to look to an individual HUMAN’s leadership rather than trusting the Holy Spirit to guide His family. Romans 8:14 tells us, “All who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.” Led? Wasn’t Jesus “led” by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness to be tested by the devil (Luke 4:1-2)? Does that mean our LEADER is the Holy Spirit? Yes, when the Spirit of God invades the soul of man, a new leader emerges, namely, God. Those who know Him will know His voice. What I’ve found is that far too few of us actually know Him. Leave it to mankind, sojourners and aliens, spiritual beings enduring this human experience, to try and get comfortable here. We send Moses up the mountain to hear from God because we’re scared spitless. We’ll even pay somebody to hear from God on our behalf - even making that his salaried job, complete with a title (pastor, reverend, father, etc.) - so he can report back to us at the next church service. Mankind, made in God’s image and intended to be the freest creature in the universe, actually WANTS to be led by someone else. It’s crazy! NOTE: The only thing God NEVER gave mankind dominion over was other people! REPEAT: The only thing God NEVER gave mankind dominion over was other people! Those humans whom we allow to take authority over our lives will take our freedoms - including our spiritual freedoms - if only because we surrender them, NOT always because they wrestled them from our grip. They’ll take all the power we give them. The word “religion” - according to Funk & Wagnall’s - actually means “a return to bondage.” Hmmm. Jesus came to set us FREE! GIVE ME A MAN! In 1 Samuel 17:10, we read about how Goliath shouted at the Israelites, “Give me a man that we may fight each other!” His taunting rang in their ears, causing paralyzing fear. Even today, many are taunted by that same demonic spirit that simply cannot bear to see Christian people submit directly to God, preferring that we submit to a man instead. The apostle Paul had to write a letter of correction to the House Churches that were meeting in the Greek city of Corinth. It seems that some who were coming into The Church - specifically, in this case, those who belonged to Chloe’s family - were beginning to take a little too much pride in their spiritual pedigrees and becoming a bit cliquish. They had opened the door to a Sectarian Spirit. According to 1 Corinthians 1:12, they were saying things like, “I am a follower of Paul,” and “I am a follower of Apollos,” and “I am a follower of Peter,” along with those who confessed, “I am a follower of Christ.” “I am a follower of Catholicism. I am a follower of the Presbyterians. I am a follower of the Baptists. I’m a follower of (name a preacher, any preacher).” Jesus said, “I will build MY Church, and the gates of Hell will not prevail against it.” He never told Peter to build his own network of churches. He said “feed MY lambs,” not “feed YOUR lambs.” Paul never referred to the churches he planted as “his” churches. Here we read how he pleaded with the Corinthian saints, “Christian brothers, I ask you with all my heart in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to agree among yourselves. Do not be divided into little groups. Think and act as if you all had the same mind.” In verse 13, Paul adds, “Has Christ been divided? Was Paul put on a cross to die for your sins? Were you baptized in the name of Paul? I am thankful to God that I baptized Crispus and Gaius only. No one can say that you were baptized in the name of Paul…Christ did not send me to baptize. He sent me to preach the Good News.” Good News? Yes, the Good News - the Gospel of the Kingdom that Jesus came to preach about (see Matthew 4;23; 9;35; 24:14; Mark 1:14) that is simply this: 1) There is a King. 2) He has a Kingdom. 3) He loves you and wants you in it with Him so that He can care for your needs. 4) He desires to build that Kingdom with you alongside, working WITH Him as He works THROUGH you. The Queen of Sheba heard about King Solomon and marveled at how he cared for his subjects. From the fine robes they wore, the food they ate, the wisdom the king possessed…he amazed her. “That was some kinda King!” When God cared for the wandering Children of Israel, for forty years their clothing never wore out, water came from rocks, manna and quail were provided to eat and they were provided shade by day and fire by night. Even their enemies were destroyed and those bitten by serpents were healed. “That was some kinda King!” Even King Jesus, when preaching to hungry crowds, provided food. He raised their dead loved ones and healed their sicknesses. “That was some kinda King!” Now, the same Spirit that raised Him from death and led Him in life desires to lead us. But we must submit to Him. We must decrease so that He can increase and shine through us, illuminating our worlds and telling them about the Good News of the Kingdom of God. They, too, once they experience Him, will declare, “That is some kinda King! The Spirit exalts Jesus, and abases the flesh. If our flesh is screaming out for human leadership, pridefully declaring that we are followers of so-n-so, and if our lives are not centered around Jesus, I question whether or not He is truly the Lord - “kyrios” in Greek, meaning “owner” - of our lives. If Jesus is not central to what your House Church is all about, question its reason for being. If you find yourself following any human being and NOT the Spirit of Christ, I have a Word from God for you: Repent! We must fight to keep dissension from entering in among us. Our 30,000 manmade denominations aren’t doing a very good job of that, it appears. We have been, despite our good intentions, the #1 cause of atheism on the planet. They will know we are Christians by our love for one another. So, let’s all decide to love one another. Jesus is Lord…or He’s not. Either we submit to Him alone as Lord of ALL, or He isn’t our Lord at all. Translation Companies: Playing Detective on Prospective Vendors

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

By Fred Zacharias Finding the right translation service company can be a bit of a trial in itself. Ideally the personal coordinating the translation project whether it’s a middle manager or a consultant should have experience with detailing requirements of a translation project and be able to oversee it’s progress from thought to completion. If that isn’t possible try brainstorming some potential contacts- perhaps even within your own circle of friends and acquaintances that may be able to provide leads to a suitable translator. Hey, we live in such multicultural world, that we probably can’t help but know someone who is bilingual and perhaps even is knowledgeable in the language you are currently pursuing in your project. Another thing you can do is seek out a portfolio of the translation service company or freelancer that has piqued your interest. You can call up some of their current or previous clients and find out how happy they are with the job that was provided for them. If you are planning on following this route it is best to do your due diligence first and find companies that have had projects with similar requirements and target markets as the one you are trying to get off the ground. Atkins vs. Go-Carb Diet: Which Is Best?

Monday, January 28th, 2008

By Sacha Tarkovsky In terms of books sold, perhaps the Atkins diet is the most successful of the modern age. It obviously would not be so successful if it did not work and work quickly. However, there are several cons as well as pros to the Atkins Diet, and we shall compare it to the Go-Carb Diet (good old carbohydrate diet), and give you the opportunity to chose for yourself. Due to the notoriety of celebrities using the Atkins diet, and the promotion of the book itself, it has become very well known and widely practiced, at least for a while. The advantages claimed over a Go-Carb diet are: Not all carbohydrates are disallowed. For example, those rich in dietary fiber are allowed as the fiber is not digested. This gives the dieter a great degree of choice Similarly as so many foods are permitted, there is greater variety in this diet, so the thought is, the risk of cheating is reduced. Thus, you keep with the diet till you achieve your goal. The diet permits you to eat the food you like best, such as meat, cheeses, creams, and other high fat foods. The diet lets you eat large quantities and so you are not becoming hungry, and Because the body thinks its starving, you burn fat for energy. On the other hand, there are some real criticisms, which are: As mentioned above, but looked at differently, if you burn fat for energy instead of carbohydrates, you will have increased uric acid and ketones (you enter into a state called ketosis), which the body takes for starvation. Certainly you will lose weight, but can also end up with kidney problems, migraine and even gout. Eventually you will also burn muscle tissue, which is not desirable at all. An often quoted study published in the New England Journal of Medicine providing evidence the Atkins diet works, in fact, concluded that after dieting for a significant amount of time (one year) the results of the Atkins and Go-carb diet were about the same. That same study also mentioned (no real need to) that most people dropped out of both diets. The Atkins diet, with high amounts of saturated fats (Omega-6) in proportion to poly-unsaturated fats (Omega-3) raises blood pressure, creates all kinds of inflammations, has a negative effect on cholesterol levels and can lead to cardiovascular disease. As the Atkins diet is low in complex carbohydrates found in fruits and vegetables, it can also lead to chronic constipation and reduced colo-rectal cancer prevention. Leaving which diet is better and for whatever reasons aside, we would like to state that the only real diet is a radical change in your eating habits. This must be linked to daily exercise. Here are some real positive suggestions, based on a Go-carb diet, that if followed, you will lose weight and keep it off. In fact, instead of choosing one diet over the other, pick the best parts of both; and 1.Chose only lean protein, and not more than one gram per kilo of your weight daily. So if you weigh, for example, 75 kilos, you can have a maximum of 750 grams of quality protein daily. Make as much of this fish or non-red meat as possible. 2.When you use daily products, chose those which are low in fats; as cottage cheese, low-fat milk and sour cream. 3.Add as many fruits and vegetables as you can to our daily diet. Herein lies the secret. It is usually a dietary change, as most overweight people are eating few or any daily fruit and vegetables. 4.If you can, eat 5 smaller meals than 3 larger ones. If you need to snack, make sure its on fruit. 5.Careful of your fats. Reject all trans-fatty acids (good-bye McDonalds!) and use pure oils such as Extra Virgin Olive oil, or special margarines made without Trans-fatty acids. 6.Go-carbs are best. Whole grain breads, lentils and other pulses, non-fried and salted nuts, and only natural cereals. Avoid generally all processed food if you can. If you combine the above with daily exercise, you will lose weight so the Go carb diet is the one to choose. The Ancient Jesus Boat

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

By Omer Kaplan The 1986 two brothers from Kibbutz Ginosar discovered theGalilee Boat when a severe drought resulted in the lowering of the waters of the Sea of Galilee (Hebrew: Yam Kinneret). The vessel had been buried in, and thus protected by, the seabed’s sediments. The Antiquities Authority, assisted by many volunteers, rescued the boat in a remarkable eleven-day excavation. Excavators packaged the weak and waterlogged hull in a cocoon of fiberglass and polyurethane foam, and then successfully floated it to the nearby Yigal Allon Centre, where it underwent an extensive carefully monitored eleven-year-long conservation process in a specially-built pool. To conserve it, the boat was submerged in a solution of heated polyethylene glycol (PRG). This synthetic wax replaced the water in the wood cells. The hull was then allowed to dry slowly and cleaned of excess wax, thus allowing for its present exhibition in the atmosphere-controlled museum environment. The boat is preserved to a length of 8.2 meters (26.9 feet), a breadth of 2.3 meters (7.5 feet) and a height of 1.2 meters (3.9 feet). It is built in the typical ancient Mediterranean ’shell-based’ construction, employing pegged mortise-and-tenon joints to edge-join the planking. Iron nails hold the frames to the hull. Numerous repairs, the reuse of timbers and a multiplicity of wood types (twelve) evident in the hull, suggest that this vessel had a long work life an owner of meager means. Based on several criteria the Galilee Boat is firmly dated to the first centuries BCE-CE. An analyses of crew size suggests that this is the type of boat referred to in the Gospels in use among Jesus’ Disciples, as well as that used by the against the Romans in the nautical Battle of Migdal in CE 67. This humble vessel is, thus, a remarkable porthole into the past providing a clearer view of the Galilean seafaring that forms the backdrop to both Jesus’ ministry and the Battle of Migdal. In February 2000, fourteen years after its excavation, the boat moved to its permanent home, in a new wing of the Yigal Allon Centre, which is devoted to the story of man in the Galilee. http://www.jesusboat.com/imgs/site/site/boat.html http://www.jesusboat.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Omer_Kaplan http://EzineArticles.com/?The-Ancient-Jesus-Boat&id=134198 buy cheap phentermine online buy phentermine cod mexican pharmacy phentermine cheapest phentermine pharmacy net

Market Yourself As An Expert With These 10 Simple Steps

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

By Debbie LaChusa As a small business owner or independent professional offering a service, I’m sure you know a lot about whatever it is you do. For example, if you’re a wellness coach or personal trainer, you know a lot about health, fitness and wellness. If you’re an accountant or financial planner, you know a lot about financial matters. If you’re a massage therapist, chiropractor, or other holistic health professional, you know a lot about the body and healing. And if you’re a success, life or business coach, you know a lot about helping people accomplish their goals and achieve success in whatever aspect of their life or business you coach them. It’s Time To Proclaim Yourself An Expert If you don’t consider yourself an expert, I’d like to suggest it’s high time you did. Why? Because proclaiming yourself an expert and sharing what you know is an excellent way to market yourself and your services. Especially if you find yourself in a field or industry that’s new or not well understood. A big part of your job in this case is education. Who better to educate than an expert! And why not you?! It’s Free Marketing At Its Best Plus, this kind of marketing usually won’t cost you a dime. So, if you’re on a tight budget, this is a great solution. Keep in mind, when you market this way, you’re not giving away your services for free, but rather you’re introducing yourself, your expertise and knowledge, and your business to people who could benefit. There are all kinds of ways you can use this marketing technique to start attracting new clients to your business. Here are 10 ideas to get you started: (1) Identify a topic (or topics) you know a lot about, related to your business, and that you think would be helpful and valuable to your ideal clients. (2) Identify three, five, seven or 10 tips you could share on this topic. (3) Write articles sharing these three, five, seven and 10 tips. Keep your articles short - between 300 and 500 words is fine. (4) Post your free articles on article marketing web sites. There are many free article directories available. In fact, there are over 40 of them listed in the 10stepmarketing Online Marketing Resource Center. (5) Teach teleseminars sharing these tips to groups of your ideal clients. These could be your current prospects, or you could joint venture with someone else in a related business and offer to do a teleseminar for their clients. (6) Publish and distribute a Free Special Report covering your tips. (7) Start publishing an ezine or e-newsletter and share tips on a regular basis. (8) Let the media know you’re an expert in your field and offer to help them if they’re writing articles in your area of expertise. Submit press releases to them on a regular basis so they become familiar with you and your business. (9) Submit articles or offer to write a column for publications read by your ideal clients. (10) Always include some promotion of your services, or a special offer with your free content. Even if it’s only a link to your website. Remember your ultimate goal is to market your services. All of these marketing techniques are great ways to proclaim yourself an expert Remember all it takes to become an expert is to appoint yourself THE expert. Then deliver on that by sharing valuable information using one, two or all of the marketing methods above. It’s the technique I’ve used This is the primary form of marketing I’ve used to market 10stepmarketing over the past year. I have used all 10 of these methods and the reward has been tremendous - generating amazing exposure for me and my business at little to no cost. I invite you to search Google on my name and see what comes up. :-) 99% of what you’ll find was done for free. The only cost was my time to write and put the information out there. Toy Trains vs Model Trains - What’s the Difference?

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

By B. Murphy For people who aren’t involved in the model railroading hobby, there’s really no difference between “toy” trains and “model” trains. After all, both hobbies involve small trains that are controlled by some sort of power pack. There is a significant difference, however, to anyone who is an enthusiast. Calling a model railroad a “toy train” is like calling a classic piece of literature a “novel”. Toy trains are generally marketing to children, and are the way many of us were introduced to the hobby. They tend to be quite plain looking and not based on any real-life trains. Model trains, on the other hand, are often a true art form with scale reproductions of real or potential trains and layouts (a technique known as prototyping). Some of the earliest toy trains were available in the early 19th century. They often had wind-up motors or even steam-powered locomotives and were generally made from cast iron. In the 1850’s a German company named Marklin, who made dollhouse accessories, introduced a box set of a train and track to try to broaden its market to include boys as well as girls. They also made extra tracks, rolling stock and building that were available as accessories. Electric trains followed soon after, commonly believed to have been introduced by Carlisle and Finch in 1897 in the United States. The Lionel corporation revolutionized these model and they rapidly gained popularity and sophistication. Things such as lighting, ability to change direction and “real” smoke were some of the earliest realism features that were added. There was still little distinction between “toy” and “model” trains until the 1950’s, however, when the modern emphasis on realism really started to take hold. Today there are various gauges of model railroads, with a vast array of accessories available. They can be controlled by computer and entire railyards can be operated exactly the way they would be in real life. Many model railroading enthusiasts spend thousands of dollar and hundreds of hours creating prototypes of actual railroad lines, both past and present. There are clubs and associations that offer resources for beginners and experienced railroaders alike. The internet has also helped to make it easier to find information on model railroading, as well as a much larger selection of trains and accessories than the average hobby store could hope to stock. Bill Murphy writes about DCC control, analog control and other model railroading topics for the Model Railroader website. Time To Relax

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

By Michael Russell Lavender This pure essential oil is native to the Mediterranean. The founder of Aromatherapy started modern research of Essential Oils when he experienced the benefits of Lavender Essential Oil after applying it to a burn on his hand. Lavender has a long tradition as a beauty and well-being aid (Latin “lavare” means “to wash”!) and in Europe it is even used in hospitals to help patients relax. Unfortunately Lavender is frequently “cut” (stretched) with synthetic compounds, so make sure you buy your Lavender from a reputable source, committed to quality and purity. It grows in open fields and on mountain slopes, giving off an intense aroma when it blooms. It is primarily grown and harvested in Provence, France. The most potent, or strongest, form of Lavender is the pure essential oil and the finest pure essential oil is distilled from Lavandula Officinalis. This variety only grows at altitudes above 3000 feet. Lavender’s Therapeutic Effect The fresh flowers contain up to 0.5% of volatile oil. The 3 best known active ingredients in Lavender essential oil are geraniol, cineole, and coumarin. Lavender can also help with certain conditions It is know to help with skin irritations. Lavender water helps to promote good circulation in the skin. You can either buy the lavender water pre-made, or you can very easily make your own. To make your own lavender water, add 3 drops of lavender oil to 1 quart of distilled water, and dab, or spray, on daily. Lavender oils can help with insomnia because it has a very calming effect, which can help a person relax under stress, and lets face it, we all have stress in our lives. Put some lavender oil on a cloth, or aromatherapy stone, and put it next to your bed. This will help you sleep at night. A true story to this, my wife had lavender on a cloth and used this during her first labor. She would take deep breaths of the lavender aroma and it did help keep her stay relaxed, to a certain extent. Let Her Be Covered Part One

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

By B. White Several weeks ago, while shopping in a grocery store, my wife was approached by a woman who appeared to be very refined — very courteous manner. She indicated that she had a question that possibly she could answer. She and her husband had observed that some women wear coverings similar to the one that my wife was wearing. Why are they worn? Her husbands opinion was that it signifies marriage. She herself did not concur with that opinion. But why DO you wear it? That was her question. In response, my companion assured her that the wearing of the headcovering is a Biblical teaching recorded in 1 Corinthians 11. To her that was news. She seemingly was not aware that this was a Bible teaching, and with gratitude in her voice, she promised to go home and read for herself from 1 Corinthians 11. A hundred years ago, an occurrence like that here in Lebanon county would have been unlikely. Why? Because a hundred years ago, this practice was still being observed in numerous non-Mennonite circles. The widespread loss of this practice demonstrates what can happen in no more than a hundred years. Whether that woman was a church member or not, I dont know. I do know that today, in many church circles, this teaching is either omitted, or explained away, or twisted so as to make the hair the only needed covering. But, its not my primary calling to condemn other church groups. Right within our own circles we have a big enough job to keep this practice alive and to keep it moving in the right direction. In order to get that job done requires giving periodic attention to this teaching. Thats why Ive chosen to dwell on that subject this morning. My record shows that its been a little over 5 years ago that I devoted an entire message to this subject. Thats a pretty long interval maybe too long. Ive already named the Bible passage in which this teaching is found, so lets turn in our Bibles to 1 Corinthians chapter 11. The content of this chapter revolves around 2 items: the headcovering, and the Lords supper. Because of their nature, we believe that they both fall in the category of an ordinance. This is in agreement with the language of verse 2: Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you. The now-popular approach to this chapter throws away the first of these practices, the headcovering, but retains the second, the Lords supper. In my opinion, there is no valid ground for that kind of selectivity. Nonetheless, its being done. And thats one reason why there are people around us like that lady who approached my wife. In a few moments, Im going to be reading 1 Corinthians 11:4, 5 and 6. Those verses serve as home base for both the doctrine and the practice of the headcovering. But all of the first 16 verses relate to the subject in one way or another. All right, lets listen now to verses 4-6: (4) Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head. (5) But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. (6) For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. Those last four words in verse 6 are my text: Let her be covered. That is a straightforward command. Its comparable to other commands that are stated in a similar way. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body. Let no man deceive you. Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. Let your light so shine. Now the command in view here is no less binding than these other commands. Shall we come before the Lord in prayer? or is it more important to simply fit in??A web-site you might profit from if this article seemed a drab bore is : www.successmagnet.org In part two I will go into more detail on the subject. Cell Phones May be Future Target for Viruses

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Eva_Gibson]Eva Gibson As if you didnt have enough to worry about, what with hackers lurking in every corner of the internet and phishing scammers ready to blindside you at every turn, heres something else on which to gnaw. The last couple of years have given way to a different, though thus far low grade, threat: the transmission of viruses through your cell phone. Though this is not yet considered a widespread problem, there is concern that the future of cell phone viruses will prove to be a damaging and encompassing as computer viruses. In 2004, developers created the first cell phone virus, Cabir A. The virus, ironically, was created only to prove that the creation was possible. It was turned over to researchers for the purpose of developing a solution before the issue becomes a problem. Since the creation of Cabir A, criminals have taken it upon themselves to create their own malicous viruses. Though only a few were ever released into the wild and didn’t have a widespread effect, they were created to do harm, and we likely haven’t seen the last of similar efforts. Some cell phone viruses are spread the same way as computer virusesthrough executable files. A cell phone can even download an infected file from a computer. Other ways a virus can be transmitted to a cell phone include: Internet downloads, such as ring tones and video clipsMultimedia Messaging Service attachmentsBluetooth transfersCell phone viruses commonly arrive in the form of games, free stuff such as ringtones and images, pornography, and phone add-ons and patches. Some are in the form of a text message program, which must be opened and installed, which makes them unlikely to spread very far. However, many people end up with infected phones because they open viruses disguised as games, or other similar features they think they want, and download them. In the event that cell phone viruses start becoming more common, you can avoid infecting your cell phone using the same preventative methods you use to avoid infecting your computer: Do not download or accept free media or files unless they are from a trusted source.Do not open or download attachments from unknown sources.Turn off Bluetooth or set it to non-discoverable mode when it’s not in use.Only allow phones equipped with Beam (or Infrared) to receive incoming beams from a trusted source. If your cell phone is capable of running antivirus software, install it and keep it updated. If your cell phone becomes infected, the damage could range from loss of contact information to the crashing of your phone. Some viruses are even capable of spreading to the cell phones of the people on your contact list via MMS messageand charging you each time it is sent! Some experts worry that there might one day be a virus created that allows third parties to tap your phone, record the numbers you dial, listen to your conversations, and steal financial information. Though cell phone viruses are not currently a high-risk threat, that does not mean you should be nonchalant about the possibility that you might contract one. As people become more and more dependant on the convenience of modern technology, there will always be those who will exploit flaws or find ways to make technology work in their advantage and against you. http://home.stopsign.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Eva_Gibson http://EzineArticles.com/?Cell-Phones-May-be-Future-Target-for-Viruses&id=316066 where can i purchase xanax where can i buy cheap xanax xanax overnight no prescription purchase xanax without a prescription
